Privacy Policy

For the Udhar Card user app — the app shoppers use to shop today and pay after up to 28 days.

Last updated: 7 September 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Udhar Card (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Udhar Card user app (the “App”) on iOS or Android. The App lets you shop today and pay after up to 28 days, using a virtual card and your approved credit limit.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here. Please read this policy alongside our terms and any loan agreement you accept when you are approved for credit.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and information we get automatically, to provide the service and keep it safe.

  • Account and contact details — your name, mobile number, email address, and the password you create.
  • Identity and eligibility details (KYC) — to decide your credit limit we may ask for your date of birth, address, PAN, Aadhaar (with your consent), and other details needed to verify your identity, as required by Indian law and our regulated lending partners.
  • Purchase and repayment data — the transactions you make with your virtual card, your outstanding balance, and your repayments, so the App can show an accurate account.
  • Device and usage information — device model and operating system, app version, and how you use the App, to improve performance and fix issues.
  • Location — only where you allow it, and only when a feature needs it (for example, to find a nearby shop that accepts Udhar Card).

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • verify your identity and assess your credit limit;
  • provide the virtual card and repayment features;
  • share required information with our regulated lending partners so they can offer and service your credit;
  • prevent fraud, misuse, and money laundering, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations;
  • send you account updates, statements, and (with your consent) offers;
  • improve and secure the App.

4. Credit through lending partners

Credit on Udhar Card is provided by RBI-regulated lending partners. Where you apply for credit, your details are shared with them to the extent necessary — including reporting your repayments to credit bureaus, as permitted by law. Their use of your information is also governed by their own policies and the loan agreement you accept.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With lending partners and banks — to provide the credit you request;
  • With service providers — companies that help us run the service (cloud hosting, verification, SMS, payments, and customer support), under agreements that require them to keep your data safe;
  • With regulators, courts, or law enforcement — where the law requires it;
  • In a business transfer — if we merge with or are acquired by another company.

6. Permissions we may ask for

The App may ask for access to your camera, files, or location — for example, to scan a QR code or upload a KYC document. These permissions are used only for the feature you choose to use, and you can control or revoke them in your device settings at any time.

7. How we keep your data secure

We use encryption and access controls to protect your information in transit and at rest, and we limit internal access to only those team members who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data and review our practices regularly.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service, and as long as required by law — for example, to comply with the record-keeping rules of the Reserve Bank of India and other regulators. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it.

9. Your rights and choices

You can, at any time:

  • access and correct your account details in the App;
  • withdraw a previously given permission (for example, location or Aadhaar consent);
  • request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to delete your account and data.

To delete your account or raise a request, write to us at hello@udharcard.shop. Please note that some data may need to be retained to meet legal obligations, and deleting your account does not affect any outstanding repayment due.

10. Children

The App is meant for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. The latest version will always be available here.

12. Contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, or would like to raise a grievance, please contact us:

We aim to respond to every request promptly, and in line with applicable law.
